Story
Fish is landed at various sites along the coast and purchased by middlemen and local processors. Currently the industry is primarily focused on fin fish and shrimp fishing. Fin fish, both ocean and fresh water, are primarily marketed in country, as fish is a popular protein source. There are 45 licensed fish processors, and three companies are certified to export to EU countries. It is estimated that 15,000 persons are employed in the sector. The Cage culture project is geared to significantly boost the marine fish sector.
